London Magician - Paul Hollywood Handshake and Rays of Sunshine
On Tuesday and Thursday I did a couple of hours Close Up Magic in the Hospitals of St. George's in Tooting and UCLH near Euston Station for the Rays of Sunshine. Great charity that goes into hospitals all over the country and visits children and young adults who are being treated for Cancer and other life threatening diseases. It's great to be able to let them forget about their situation even for a short while and apart from my magic they had Bollywood Dancers, Build a Bear, Arts and Crafts and other entertainment on offer. Great to see so many people supporting this charity and how it can make a difference. I also have a couple of hospitals in February to visit with them as well.
On Saturday I had a couple of shows - the first up in North London. The birthday boy was so excited and had been watching Amigo's Magic Videos online (multiple times every day) in preparation for the big day. He was not let down by the Magic Show or by the White Rabbit.
I then had a show in the Union Theatre (upstairs) for three birthday girls. After the Magic Show one granny came up to me and asked if I knew the Show "The Great British Bake Off" I said I did and watched with my kids. She asked if I knew what it meant to get a Paul Hollywood Handshake - I said I did for an exceptional bake. She then put her hand out and said I would like to give you one for your Magic Show you've just put on. I've seen a few in my time - my own kids and the grandkids but that was the best of all of them. She then proceeded to shake my hand - felt very chuffed!!
