Halloween For a London Magician - Trick or Treat
Lots of Halloween Parties last week, one for a company up in the City and one on Friday, for a group of teenage boys, all the way up in Pinner. Both lots wanted an alternative to having their kids go out on the street trick or treating but wanted to let them have fun as well. Both shows were great and the kids didn't feel they had missed out on anything.
However I missed out on seeing the kids faces when they came to my door for Trick or Treating. Normally they ask "Trick or Treat?" To which I reply "Treat" take a handful of sweets from their pumpkins, thank them and close the door. You can see them thinking - what happened there and I open up the door to be told "You have to give us one, not the other way around" to which I reply "Ok I'll give you a trick then and do a fire trick, put a knife through my arm etc depending on the age range. The problem is, you make a rod for your own back and soon you have every kid on the street wanting to see the trick.
On Saturday I had a show in Herne Hill, where I finally got to see the "Illusionier Shop" open. It was great and had a tour and will probably go back to see it in action on a Friday night. In the evening another spooky Magic Show for someone I've now been too for about five years who has a house party before they go and see the Fireworks on Blackheath.
On Sunday I had a show in Dulwich. Went to the wrong sports ground first and saw another children's entertainer in the middle of their magic show. Talked to some parents at the back about my Fundraising shows and left to go to the right building. Have a Fundraising show next Friday up in Northolt so need to bring all the big props through the house from their storage.
